ACT is delighted to announce that its next production will be The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler. The Vagina Monologues are a series of 16 monologues based on activist Ensler’s interviews with over 200 women. Each monologue relates somehow to some aspect of the vagina, with recurring themes throughout the piece being the vagina as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality.
This production calls for up to 12 women of all ages. Auditions will be held at L’Ecole Francaise Arthur Rimbaud (The Arthur Rimbaud French School), 17 Ayiou Marona, Nicosia (next to the Maronite Church, Paphos Gate; map here) on the following dates:
- Tuesday 15th June 2010 from 19:00 to 21:00;
- Sunday 20th June 2010 from 17:00 to 19:00.
Rehearsals are due to start the first week of September 2010.

- Friday October 1st 2010

ACT will be entering the annual Rosebowl Festival in Episkopi on Saturday May 8th 2010. The performance starts at around 19:30.
Last year we won the Adjudicator’s award, so we are hoping to repeat this success this year!
ACT members should have received an email about travel arrangements to the festival.
We did it! After two months of dedicated work by the cast and crew, we managed to put on (and pull off!) a spectacular run.
A big “Thank You!” to everyone who selflessly volunteered their time and talents to make this a success, including:
- Our producers, for working tirelessly and pulling everything together;
- Our set design and construction team, for lugging and building everything twice (with hardly any complaints);
- Our props and costume teams for trawling through every antique and second-hand shop on the island to find authentic costumes, magazines, newspapers, suitcases and even bus tickets!
- Our sound and lighting team for doing such a great job with split-second accuracy (even when they couldn’t see the stage);
- Our make-up and hair stylists for such superb 1950s makeovers.
- Our friendly and welcoming front-of-house team for lugging signs, tables, programmes and T-shirts, and for being, well, friendly and welcoming.
- Our cheerful and tireless barman for all his work, not only as barman, but also as set builder, morale-builder, general roadie, and, occasionally, club president.
- Our business manager, for up-to-the-minute updates on ticket sales;
- Our graphics design team, for making sure that we had such beautiful posters, tickets and programmes;
- Our publicity team, for ensuring that said posters were distributed to far-flung corners of the island;
- Our photographer, for such lovely and painstakingly professional photos;
- Our cast, for saying nearly all their lines in nearly the right order.
And finally, we would like to thank you, our audience, for all the kind support and enthusiastic feedback we have received over the last two weeks. None of this would be possible without you. Thank You!
